RISE Camp

During Monday to Wednesday of the second week of hols, we had our usual RISE camp, except this time, we used the theme of Lord of the Rings! It was cool, it really was, what with games, soccer, and not too many rehearsal hours. And of course not to forgot the games of bridge, which were always fun with lumpy losing so many times that it has officially been classified as a jinx.

So anyway on Day 1, we reported to LT1 in the morning, where we were divided into 4 groups, Men, Elves, Hobbits, Dwarves, according to the main groups in LoTR. Then we played zhiyi's day game, a quiz which was quite challenging, with obscure questions like name all the letters in the roman alphabet, which we (men) promptly lost, coming in second. Then in the afternoon was campaigning for next year exco! I ran for librarian, and it was quite ok overall, so thats that.

And finally at night came our night game! Basically, people had to run around doing exciting quests, battling with other teams, and also searching for an object that reduces another teams level to 1, and we as questmasters also had fun running around to check on their progress, so good job to everyone for being good sport and also special thanks to daron and ren hao =)

Then that night after the games, this thing that i will always remember happened. After playing bridge in the room, lumpy, zhao kai, daron and I decided that it was time to bath, but we decided to go to RJ PAC toilets to shower since lumpy said that it was nicer there. So we found the place, and it was really much cleaner and nicer, with one problem: the doors of the cubicles didnt have locks. Well sadly in school, people are rather playful, playing pranks all the time, or else they are just really desperate (like they bother to use coins to open the cubicle locks even WHEN there are locks just to bully the person inside or ahem), so had it been more than the 4 of us, we certainly would not have dared to use the showers, but there was this trust amongst us so we used it anyway. I must say it is really incidents like this that make me realise who I trust.

On Day 2, we had yet another day game by zhiyi which was rather fun, and then a night game by our conductor, which again was fun, but a little tiring considering we needed to take bearings and distances :S

And on the final day, we had a birthday bash for all the people born in may and june! So as usual there was food and songs and not to forget lanning afterwards, where our team completely owned in the last game. It was like, we were even attempting to kill the fountain, and their heros were surrounded COMPLETELY by creeps when they attempted to resist, such that they could even run out. Lols!

So that was the end to an eventful camp =)
