SNCO Concert

Had concert with SNCO on Sunday! It was quite cool, barring some minor screw ups =)

We played at Tampines Soka Culture Centre and it was quite full, which makes the screw ups even more interesting.

Firstly, Mr Wu's baton flew out of his hand while he was conducting... He must have been very absorbed in the piece and so his baton hit the conductor's stand and flew off. He bent down to pick it, to the bewilderment of some players who just saw him disappear and whats more, he pulled his stand causing more things to topple (like scores, microphone etc). Luckily we played that piece (Dance of the Yaos?) fairly well so it was fine eventually.

Then for the vivaldi which some teacher forced on me, I sort of screwed up the end of the solo. I just couldnt catch up cause my fingers sort of tied together... But overall it was again not too bad...

However, thats not the point of this post! The point is that I met many nice people from SNCO (many who are in SNYO too and are very very pro). First and foremost, there is Hao Wei, the concertmaster! He is rather friendly, cheerful, easy-going, and pleasant, which is real cool seeing as you dont find many of such people in school... Oh, he does not show off his pro violin skils too, which is a good thing, seeing as he is better than someone from RISE who played too and shows off.

Then there is his sis Wei Le who is second violin front desk and also in SNYO, just like her bro, and Hui Wen, who is again in SNYO and who is also nice (maybe I should stop repeating this but then, they are just nice! so i cannot neglect to mention this).

So here's me and Hao Wei (I look spastic in glasses man)...

And his sis Wei Le ...

Not forgetting Hui Wen...

Here are some other people who made my day, and fall into the criteria of 'nice people': Tommy (Cello), Jun Wen (Cello), Zheng Yang (Violin), Audrey (Percussion).

Thanks a lot =)
