Today, I went to AMK Poly for an attachment with the NHG Lab there, together with Daniel and Yaolin. Our teacher mentor Mrs Low went there too.
There, we saw 3 D-10 Machines and all the equipment which we used during the past two days and it was rather amusing to be introduced to them again.
The staff were really friendly (especially this woman whom we talked to most) and helped answer all our questions. Of course, it helped that there were few patients waiting to have their blood drawn since it was the afternoon. They even volunteered to help us take our HbA1c reading!
So I braved the unpleasant sensation of having your finger pricked with some weird disposable thing and the machine processed the sample. And bingo! I got a perfectly healthy reading of 5.4%, while Yaolin got a slightly higher (i.e bad) reading of 5.6%, all under the 6% mark =)
Here is a picture of the staff at work...
And here's a group pic!
P.S. This is the first time I successfully uploaded pictures in my blog, and I only got the html for resizing the pic right after a few tries =)
P.P.S. Shall now upload pics for previous posts.
